This is cute Russian Porcelain Pelican Figurine, created by the Porcelain Factory, located in Astrakhan, Russia, at the mouth of Volga River.
The Pelican is very much realistic looking.
It is the skillfully executed porcelain figurine, the author of which is Russian master Salvin Vladimir. The figurine is hand-painted and covered with the special glaze, protecting the item from loosing the color.
The figurine has the stamp “С” on the bottom that means the name of the manufacture and symbolized the dragon – the sign of the factory. The smallest figurines can be without this stamp because of less of space to put.
